So today marked the day that 3 fandoms reduced me to keysmash. I may be a little fizzing ball of suppressed geekish glee right now :)

asldkfja;lfjk #1: Merlin - t'is time for another round of footy in the name of charity. Team Merlin have been confirmed as returning to defend their title and this time they're bringing the entire gang. Bradders even broke his Twitter silence in honour of the occasion :)

asldkfja;lfjksajlk #1: Glee - yes, it was the ep with that casting spoiler. Yes it hammish and clunky and clichéd, but I still loved it. SPOILERS... )

asfd;lkjasdl;fjkdjkaaf;jdaf #1: Avengers - shortly it will première in LA and Marvel have fired a final killer clip, this time with Loki and Iron Man. It seems I have reached the stage where I'm now waiting on the actual film as I haven't yet watched the vid since it's one of the confrontations I'm most looking forward to :) Even so, I must confess I do see why some folks are so keen on their Loki/Tony given shots like the one behind this here cut... )

And thus passes a lovely Easter weekend. Plenty of friends, family, temperamental English weather and probably more Pimms than is healthy *ahem*

More importantly it is now only 16 days till The Avengers comes out. Though any Londoners near Westfields should keep your eyes peeled as the UK première's apparently being held there on the 19th.

In the meantime! Passing on some good interviews.

x. 'Well, acting with Robert Downey Jr is like playing Agassi. You never know what he’s going to do next. Unless, of course, you happen to be throwing him out of a window and he’s shouting, “Throw me harder, baby. Let’s make it real.”' - wherein Hiddleston talks Avengers and also a bit on how class in perceived in the acting world, (he speaks as an Oxbridge Etonian via Rada).
x. "We were trying to design the fight so it had big brother-versus-little brother mentality... Thor wants to take Loki home without harming him, while Loki wants to approach the fight with deadly intentions. - ah, bring on the family angst! Great interview with fight choreographer Jonathan Eusebio and Hiddleston on their work in Avengers. Spoilers only for what's already been seen in the trailers. *rubs hands* Bring it on :)

Well someone had to do this sooner or later...

"Who's the hottest guy in The Avengers?"

Yes it's a good old-fashioned on-line poll with ticky boxes :) Hope you're all having a wonderful Easter weekend!

If, like for me, one of the main draws of Marvel's latest film offering is that nice young chap all strapped up in leather and metal, then this latest trailer is for you since (hurrah!) he actually says more than one line (well, sort-of):

La la la la laa, is it 26th April yet...

Due to the imminent end of the financial year I've been ejected from the office to try and reduce the amount of annual leave I've not had the time to actually take. My body has responded to the break in chronic stress by promptly breaking down and felling me with a cold. Thus my first day of holiday has me in my dressing gown, dosed up to the eyeballs and trying to rally enough strength to go and enjoy the sunshine.

That aside it's been a grand, grand weekend.

1) Met-up with the family to peruse the Lucien Freud exhibition in London. A very good show if you get the chance to go.

2) Results of the The Jameson Empire Awards 2012: Hiddleston finally won won something and spent some quality time in the photobooth with Hayley Atwell. Gotta love these Marvel stars :)

3) Latest ep of Supernatural: ♥♥♥ For now my reaction is mainly this...SPOILERS for ep behind cut... )

I'm seeing SPN reaction posts popping up all over the place. Last time there was a reaction like was when I came back after a certain episode of Torchwood: Children of Earth aired.

Like last time I am being left with the distinct impression this is an episode I need to see asap. Can I? No. Because today is a wonderfully sunny day, it's early morning, and I'm about to embark on a long day out with the family perusing galleries and the like.

*twitch* I love my family but this is painful. Ah well. SPN, I will see you upon my return...

In which LJ continues to be my refuge...

So taking a wee break from my Avengers/Hiddleston splurge, I've been having a little wave of nostalgia for some of my other shows:

x. Vid: Love the Way You Lie - a look at Dean and Cas' friendship from the star-crossed early days of S4 to the fiery crash of S6/S7 (no spoilers beyond eps already aired). The lyrics fit these 2 painfully well.
x. Merlin returning character spoiler (S5) - this bit of news officially gave me my first 'SQUEEE!' moment for the new series. Filming is underway, hopefully more of these moments are to come :)

So the Avengers promotion continues to be ramped up with yet more images popping up. This time round there's been some new Loki pics which pleased me greatly.

1 & 2: The one in which Loki attempts to look innocent and fools no-one...
3: An almost fullshot of that wonderful costume. As Tom said, leather and metal does seem to be how they like it in Asgard.

Come to me, 26th April, come to me...

At work we've bid a tearful farewell to a friend who's moving back overseas. This was marked by going to the pub until they closed and threw us out, then moving on to a club and dancing like loons until they closed and threw us out, and then me spending the rest of the weekend grumbling "I'm too old for this s**t". Ah, life.

I caught up on Supernatural which was great fun, the bad guys this week were brilliant :) SPOILERS behind this here cut... )

I did take a sneak peek at the CW promo for next week's ep (ep 17). LOOK AWAY NOW IF YOU ARE GOING SPOILER-FREE... SPOILERS... )

On to other TV: Oh my FL, my wanderings have led to pass posts like this. Putting such trivial things like plot, writing and acting aside, is this Spartacus something I should be watching?

AND FINALLY! Because I have to finish with something Avengers-related, some fun links:
x. Sherlock/Avengers crossover trailer - a gif storyboard that made me chuckle, particularly the last panel :)
x. Some more Loki stills - he does look somewhat unhinged in a few of them. This is not necessarily a bad thing. Some more musings on the trailers so far... )

Somehow I've inhaled a good few movies these past few days:

In which there were Muppets, Artists, Drive(ers) and small Scottish islands. Oh my... )

And finally! Two links to pass on.

1) With the Oscars/Baftas out the way, it's time for the real awards to be dished up. Yes! It's the Empire Movie Awards. Nominations are up and it's up to you to cast the deciding vote :) Cast your vote right this way...

2) Fan-credits: 'Friends' version of 'The Avengers'. I enjoyed this far too much, mainly because I can picture in my head the warped AU where all these guys are flat-sharing and generally driving each other crazy, and it's a glorious if insane world.
